This seaside home combines design elements from the Craftsman era with details reminiscent of Bay Area architect Bernard Maybeck. Inlaid maple floors, a coffered ceiling, and a large plaster arch distinguish the living and dining areas in this 2,400-square-foot home. Our client -- a gourmet cook -- wanted the feel of an Italian kitchen, so we added dramatic colors and a bead-board ceiling and built two-toned stained ash cabinets.
