For this interior remodel, our clients wanted the look and feel of a grand, metropolitan apartment. The curved mahogany stairway with iron balusters winds up to a landing lit by a coffered, orchid-glass skylight. We mounted a set of antique Chinese elmwood screens as swinging doors to the dining room, which has a dramatic coffered ceiling. We also custom-built a fireplace mantle with a faux finish to match our clients' dining table.
